Fresh Istrian truffles
Our truffle is a natural product that humans cannot influence. It is searched fresh to order by local truffle hunters with their truffle dogs. Of course, we have convinced ourselves that the dogs are lovingly cared for and are seen as the most important partner for truffle hunting. Because it is important to us to offer you only the freshest truffles of the best quality and out of fairness to our suppliers, we can only give you prices and availability upon request.
Black truffle
(Tuber melanosporum)
Due to its intense taste, it is the best and most valuable among the black truffles. It is usually round and regular and is collected in autumn and winter under oak, hazelnut and hornbeam trees.
Black winter truffle
(Tuber Brumale)
The strong and pleasantly flavored black winter truffle can be found under hazelnuts and linden trees as well as under oak and poplar. The torus is round or irregularly bulbous with a rough and warty surface. The black winter truffle grows between December and March.
White truffle
(Tuber Manatum Pico)
The highest quality and most valued truffle grows from September to January on marl-clay soils as a symbiosis of deciduous trees such as oak, willow and poplar. It is irregularly shaped, can be round, bulbous or compact. White truffle can be found in very small pieces, but in very large tubers of up to 1 kg. White truffles should be processed very fresh.
Black summer truffle
Tuber Aestivum
Slightly milder taste and aroma than other black truffles, but still very pleasant. The black summer truffle is round and fairly regularly shaped. It grows between May and December in symbiosis with hazelnut, oak, pine, beech or poplar. This type of truffle is the most common among gourmets.
